Face to Face

About

Working with set design, 360° video technology, 3D printing, and innovative storytelling, FACE TO FACE was a 37-foot long and 13-foot wide physical installation that allowed the audience an intimate look at human resilience in spite of a devastating gun injury. The experiences placed the user into carefully constructed physical spaces, a crafted facial prosthetic VR headset, and a visceral VR film, presenting guests with unique choices that climax into a powerful takeaway.

Inspiration for FACE TO FACE:

A shotgun blast took away Michelle’s eyes, nose, and upper palate, leaving her permanently blind and unable to smell. This inspiring woman wears a bandana around her home and a specially made facial prosthesis when she goes out and about.

Michelle is raising two daughters as a single mother. We wanted the audience to become a guest in Michelle’s home as an intimate and human way to learn about her story.

Project Recognition:

Face to Face was chosen from a record number of highest quality entries to be awarded the Sheffield Doc/Fest Alternate Realities Commission and the Sheffield Doc/Fest: Virtual Reality Award

To be considered, projects had to be immersive or interactive documentaries, push the boundaries of what is technically possible within factual storytelling, and demonstrate a strong commitment to innovation in the realm of non-fiction.

I am not a color palette. I do not separate my interests into little compartments. I am a seamless blend of pigments and hues. My mission, to positively touch people's lives, bleeds into my love for the stage, which in turns, swirls with my strong work ethic. The product, is my expression on paper. A famous person may have said once that to write is to create a thought and idea and immortalize it.
